Supporting Families in Need in
Ara Permata, Lembah Subang

On 12th October 2025, the spirit of compassion came alive in Ara Permata, Lembah Subang, as UPLIFT and BAC once again reached out to those who need it most. 100 families struggling to make ends meet were identified, and supported with a food pack filled with essentials.

A Day of Generosity and Connection

Volunteers, residents and local families gathered in an atmosphere filled with warmth and gratitude. Laughter mingled with conversation as boxes of essential groceries changed hands.

Each family received a carefully assembled food aid package, including:

5kg of rice
1kg of planta
1kg of murukku flour
1.7kg of wheat flour
2L of cordial drink
1kg of sugar
1 pack of teabags
2kg of cooking oil
1 pack of assorted biscuits
2 cans of sweetened condensed milk

Tackling Poverty, One Family at a Time

This initiative is part of UPLIFT’s ongoing mission to meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).

For many of these families, daily life is a delicate balance of bills, rent and the rising cost of living. A simple act like this can lighten that burden and restore a sense of stability, even if just for a while.

Feeding More Than Just Bodies

Beyond the tangible aid, the event was also about rebuilding trust and connection within the community. Volunteers shared conversations and smiles with the families they served, creating moments of genuine human connection often lost in the hustle of urban life.

The sight of children helping their parents carry home the food packs, grinning proudly as if they had just received a treasure, was a quiet but powerful reminder that kindness creates ripples. One small act can brighten many lives.

Through efforts like this, UPLIFT continues to build a Malaysia where no family goes hungry, no child is left behind and every act of kindness moves us closer to equality and compassion.
