Empowering Children with Disabilities
in Puchong

On 7 October 2025, UPLIFT in collaboration with Yayasan Kelab-Kelab Rotary Malaysia, reached out to Pertubuhan Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Shan Dai Selangor in Puchong, Selangor.

The initiative, part of UPLIFT’s ongoing OrphanAid: Ensuring No Child Is Left Behind campaign, was dedicated to supporting children with various disabilities by improving their quality of life and ensuring their daily comfort and care needs were met.

Empowering Through Everyday Essentials

Understanding the home’s daily challenges, UPLIFT and its partners allocated a total of RM4,721 to provide essential electrical items that enhance both convenience and well-being. The donations included:

• 2 Wall Fans
• 1 Blender
• 5 Extension Cords/Multi-Plugs
• 2 Water Heaters
• 2 Microwave Ovens
• 1 Electric Stove/Induction Cooker
• 2 Fridges
• 1 Water Heater Installation

Each item was selected thoughtfully to meet the specific needs of the home, ensuring that the children and caretakers have access to better facilities, improved comfort and safer living conditions. For many, these upgrades represented a significant improvement in their daily routines. Small changes that bring big differences.

By addressing the needs of children with disabilities, UPLIFT and its collaborators are working to reduce inequality and promote inclusion. Beyond the practical benefits of the donation, the project underscored the importance of ensuring that every child, regardless of ability, deserves care, respect and opportunities to thrive.

A Collaboration Rooted in Compassion

Through this collaboration with Yayasan Kelab-Kelab Rotary Malaysia this initiative demonstrated how partnerships rooted in empathy can drive meaningful change. Volunteers not only delivered essential items but also spent time engaging with the children, sharing moments of laughter and warmth that filled the centre with joy.

Continuing the Mission of Hope

The OrphanAid initiative at Shan Dai Children’s Home serves as a powerful reminder that real change begins with compassion in action. With each visit and every act of giving, UPLIFT continues to bring light and hope to communities across Malaysia. For the children at the home, these contributions mean safer, more comfortable days ahead, and a future where they know they are valued and never forgotten.
