BAC2School at SMK Sultan Abdul Samad:Stress-Free SPM Support
On 17 December 2025, the BAC Education Group brought learning, laughter and life skills to SMK Sultan Abdul Samad through its BAC2School initiative. Approximately 150 Form 3 and Form 4 students took part in an interactive and meaningful session focused on Stress Management and the introduction of SPMflix, a free digital platform designed to support students preparing for the SPM examination.
The programme was smoothly coordinated with the school through Cikgu Valar, with overall communications managed by Mr. Jayceva, ensuring a well-organised and impactful session.
Introducing SPMflix: Learning Made Accessible
The session kicked off with the BAC Learn team introducing SPMflix, highlighting how students can access free, high-quality educational resources to support their SPM revision. The platform is a practical and student-friendly tool, empowering learners to take charge of their academic journey.
To spark excitement and encourage participation, students received free notepads, while those who actively engaged during the Q&A, walked away with KFC vouchers and BAC hoodies, instantly lifting the energy in the hall.
Turning Stress into Strength
The Stress Management segment began with BAC lecturer Hadri Bin Omar (Hadri), who set the tone with welcoming remarks and an energetic ice-breaker. Students enthusiastically joined in two lively songs with simple dance moves, transforming the space into a vibrant and positive environment.
Once energised, Chiew Chin Kent (Hayden) from the BAC Counselling Team led the highlight of the session: the stress balloon activity. Students were divided into eight groups, each inflating a balloon and writing down the stressors they commonly face—be it exams, expectations or personal challenges. One by one, groups shared their thoughts on stage before popping their balloons together, a powerful symbol of letting go and choosing resilience over pressure.
Practical Tools for Real-Life Challenges
Building on the activity, Hayden delivered a concise yet impactful talk on:
- Different types of stress
- How stress affects mental and emotional wellbeing
- Simple mitigation strategies students can practise daily
Students were also guided through a breathing exercise designed to help manage anxiety, an easy but effective technique they can use anytime, anywhere.
To wrap up the session, students took part in a 10-question quiz to reinforce what they had learned. The friendly competition kept spirits high, with more KFC vouchers awarded to the winners as a rewarding finale.
A Meaningful Impact
The response was overwhelmingly positive. While many students already had a basic awareness of stress and mental health, the session provided practical tools, fresh perspectives and a safe space to talk about real challenges. Through interactive learning and creative expression, students left better equipped to manage stress, both in school and beyond.
