BAC Responds To Plea For Help From Pahang

This plea for help came from a religious leader in Pahang. Rev. Fr. Jestus Pereira and his team of volunteers have been delivering food aid and essentials to families and communities in need around Mentakab, Termerloh, Jerantut and other areas around the state. Many of the rural areas in the state of Pahang are also Orang Asli settlements.

Having exhausted all avenues, and with not much left to hand out, Fr. Jestus and his team had to pause efforts. It was through a shared WhatsApp message that he got to know about the FreeMakan campaign.

Realising that FreeMakan and its team of volunteers operated from Kuala Lumpur, the only question he asked hesitantly was, “Would you deliver all the way to Pahang?”

The FreeMakan team sensed the urgency and arranged 160 packs to be delivered to 4 different locations – Best Wood Kilang Pan and Estate Semantan in Mentakab, Kilang Papan Surya in Temerloh, and Seng Chap Wah Timber Merchant in Jerantut.

We hope that these bags of necessities would give individuals and families reached out to, some form of relief.
