In response to the flash floods that have displaced the lives of thousands, FreeMakan, together with UPLIFT (Pertubuhan Bangkit) and the BAC Education Group, continues to deliver essential items to the victims.
The Flood Relief Campaign was initially launched in efforts to help flood victims around the Klang Valley. The campaign now known as the Malaysia Flood Relief, will now reach out to flood victims of other states. To date, the campaign has managed to collect RM256,650. With more calls and requests for aid coming in, the Malaysia Flood Relief Campaign now aims to raise RM500,000.
Funds collected will be used to purchase essential goods such as dry ration (rice, cereal, milk powder, sugar, instant noodles, biscuits, Milo, canned food, coffee and tea), new undergarments, new towels, sanitary napkins, toiletries, hygiene packs, diapers, kitchen stoves and utensils, mats and mattresses, among many other items.
Among the places Team Uplift visited on 22nd December was the Dewan Kiambang Seksyen 7, Jalan Platinum 7/58, Shah Alam, where supplies for 50 people were distributed.
