FreeMakan Reaches Out To Refugees In Sentul, Providing Groceries and Relief

The refugee community in Malaysia has suffered greatly as a result of this pandemic. Due to their lack of legal status, gaining employment and procuring monthly necessities for their families have always been particularly challenging for refugees. In the midst of our multiple lockdowns, these feats are almost impossible.

FreeMakan is determined to ensure these vulnerable communities do not go hungry during these tumultuous times.

On the 1st of July, FreeMakan’s partner NGO, MYMA, delivered packs of groceries to UNHCR refugees living in Sentul. They clutched on to their groceries as they posed for pictures, expressing gratitude for these supplies that would tide them over for the next few weeks.

And just like that, we’re reminded of how important it is to give back to marginalised communities, who have gone through the worst during this pandemic. If you’d like to join us on our quest to stop hunger, visit our fundraising page to make a donation today!
