Uniforms of Hope: Helping Miri Children Go to School
In the remote areas in our eastern lands, Miri and Sarawak, education is a true privilege, and it comes with great challenges. Limited household income often means families must make difficult choices, and for some, even basic school essentials such as a proper uniform are out of reach. Without these necessities, a child’s opportunity to attend school confidently and consistently can be affected.
Recognising this need, GiveBACk, the charitable arm of BAC Education, launched the “Uniforms of Hope: Help Miri Children Go To School” campaign. The initiative was created to ensure that children from underserved communities are not held back from education simply because they lack a school uniform.
Supporting Children Where It Matters Most
Through this campaign, funds were raised to provide school uniforms for 100 primary and secondary school children in Miri who needed them most. To ensure transparency and meaningful impact, GiveBACk worked closely with its trusted ground partner, Sanggar Suri Malaysia.
The uniforms were carefully purchased and personally delivered to the selected schools, ensuring that every contribution reached the children directly.
Schools Reached Through the Campaign
The Uniforms of Hope campaign successfully supported children and educators across several schools in Miri:
- SK Rumah Undi
50 students and 22 teachers
Total beneficiaries: 72 - SK Kampung Bulau
39 students and 14 teachers
Total beneficiaries: 53 - SK Rumah Essau
33 students and 18 teachers
Total beneficiaries: 51 - SK Beliau Ahad
76 students and 20 teachers
Total beneficiaries: 96
These schools serve communities where resources are limited, and the provision of uniforms plays a meaningful role in encouraging school attendance and fostering a sense of dignity and belonging among students.

We always want every child to have the confidence and the belief that they deserve access to education regardless of their background. By removing one small but significant barrier, the Uniforms of Hope campaign helps children focus on learning, growing, and dreaming about their future.
