Relief Pack Delivered to a Family Whose Home Was Destroyed in Nawagamuwa
In the village of Nawagamuwa, the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah is painfully visible. Homes have been swept away, belongings destroyed, and entire communities uprooted by the deadly combination of floods and landslides. Among the tens of thousands affected, one family (now left without a safe place to return to) received some much-needed relief this week when a box of essential items was delivered as part of the ongoing humanitarian response by Uplift's partners in Sri Lanka.
The relief box contained basic necessities to help the displaced family cope in the immediate aftermath of the disaster. With their home destroyed, this small act of support offered them not only supplies, but comfort and dignity during an overwhelming time.
Relief workers described scenes of chaos: homes ripped apart, roads cut off, and residents forced to flee with only the clothes they were wearing. For families like this one, every form of assistance matters.
Your support can provide food, water, clothing, and household items to families who have nothing left. If you would like to help, contributions can be made here.
