Uplift Delivers Urgent Aid to Flood-Hit Families in Salak Tinggi and Sepang

As Malaysia continues to feel the devastating effects of the torrential rains brought on by Storm Senyar, communities across Malaysia remain in urgent need of assistance. Responding to the urgent call for assistance, Uplift (Pertubuhan Bangkit), GiveBACk.my and BAC Education have once again mobilised swift, community-driven relief - this time providing aid to families in Kampung Lembah Paya, Salak Tinggi, and Kampung Chinchang Salak, Sepang.

On Tuesday, December 2nd, a total of 65 relief packs were distributed through a local community mobiliser who has been working closely with affected households. Many families in these villages faced rising floodwaters that damaged homes, disrupted access to food, and left vulnerable group, especially the elderly, children, and daily-wage earners, struggling to cope.

Each relief pack was assembled using funds contributed by generous donors through Uplift, and contained a set of essential items intended to sustain families through the immediate aftermath of the disaster. The provisions included:

  • Rice 5kg (1 bag)
  • Cooking Oil 2kg
  • Bihun (1 packet)
  • Maggi Mee pack of 5 × 2
  • Sardines (tall) × 2
  • Sugar 1kg
  • Wheat Flour 1kg × 2
  • Cream Crackers
  • Boh Tea
  • Massimo Bread (600g)

These items were selected to ensure that families had access to staple foods that are easy to prepare, nutritionally sufficient, and suitable for households coping with limited cooking facilities during recovery.
