Uplift Provides Food Aid for Sri Lanka’s Flood-Hit Communities
Over the past week, torrential rains and overflowing rivers have inundated multiple districts, displacing thousands and pushing already vulnerable communities into deeper hardship. As shelters filled and access to food became increasingly strained, Uplift’s timely contribution enabled on ground volunteers from the Sathya Sai International Organisation of Sri Lanka to carry out coordinated hot-meal distributions on Saturday, November 29th, 2025, reaching some of the hardest-hit pockets around Colombo and Gampaha.
Lunch Distribution:
670 lunch packs were distributed across four flood-hit communities:
- Gemunupura, Aliwatte – 200 packs
- Orugodawatte – 315 packs
- Armour Street – 15 packs
- Wellampitiya and surrounding areas – 140 packs
Dinner Distribution:
